HON. OLUSESAN MAYOKUN DAINI, B.Sc, MPIA, MNIB

Young Olusesan is a broadminded personality meaning different things to different people in the religious, political, business circles and the society at large.

Olusesan was born in Lagos on July 28, 1980 into the family of Late Very Rev. Charles Adeolu and Mrs. Folake Daini (nee Ogunsowo). He is from the Ijaolu ruling house, Ogunyemi Family (Otugbuwa Compound) and Ogunsowo Family, all in Igbogbo Town, Lagos. Olusesan’s father, Late Very Revd. Charles Adeolu Daini was a Clergyman of Methodist Church Nigeria while his mother, Mrs. Ruth Folake Daini is a businesswoman of repute.

He had both his primary and secondary education in Ifo, Ogun State at Roman Catholic Mission Primary School and Methodist High School Arigbajo respectively. He proceeded to Pan African Training Institute in Pretoria, South Africa for an Advance Diploma in Public Management and Corporate Governance.

He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Building and a Master’s Degree in Public and International Affairs (MPIA) from the prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

He has worked in both the private and public sectors where he served at various capacities. He served as Maintenance Officer at Mojere Trading, Brakpan, and also as Project Manager at Insight Edge Consulting, both in South Africa. As an undergraduate, he served as Site Engineer at Civil Plan Works Limited, Gwarimpa, Abuja.

Being a politically active undergraduate, he was elected as a Student Representative at the University of Lagos’ House of Representatives and he later became the Speaker of the House (ULSU) in 2003 and he left an indelible mark in the minds of his fellow students and comrades.

As a change maker, he has served at various political capacities such as Member, Publicity and Media Committee for the Lagos State General Elections 2015. (All Progressives Congress); Member, Lagos State APC Youth Wing Strategy and Planning Committee, General Elections 2015; Member, ACN Lagos State Local Government Election Ad-hoc Committee, 2011; Member, Publicity and Media Committee for the Lagos State General Elections 2011. (Action Congress of Nigeria); Member, Publicity and Media Committee for the Lagos State Local Government Election 2011. (Action Congress of Nigeria).

While he was in South Africa, he co-founded Action Congress, South Africa Chapter in 2009 and National Association of Yoruba Descendants in South Africa in 2008. He was also a Representative of Nigeria Union South Africa to the Monitoring Team of Republic of South Africa Presidential Election in 2009.

He is the Managing Director of CARD International Investment Limited – a construction and maintenance firm based in Lagos.

He was appointed as Supervisor for Agriculture, Rural Development, Natural Resources and Youth Development of Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area in 2012, where he served meritoriously. He was the Publicity Secretary of Igbogbo Day Celebration Planning Committee 2012. He also served as Special Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner, Lagos State Ministry of the Environment between 2013 and 2015.

To further broaden his professional, political and leadership skills, he participated in several conferences and trainings at home and abroad such as United Nation Climate Change Conference in Warsaw, Poland 2013 (COP19); United Nation Climate Change Conference in Durban, South Africa 2011 (COP17); Electoral Integrity Seminar, Obafemi Awolowo Institute of Government and Public Policy, Lagos, Nigeria. – 2010, We-CAN Leadership Institute, Pretoria, South Africa “Discover your Talent and Maximize your potential” 2010; We-CAN leadership Institute, Pretoria, South Africa “Visioning and Goal Setting” 2009 and so on.

He is a member of Nigeria Institute of Building, a senior member of Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management, and also a member of Platinum Lion’s Club of Igbogbo, Lagos State.

Olusesan is an inspiration to the younger generation, who sees him as role model and mentor. He is a man of his words and makes integrity his watchword.

Olusesan Daini is a Change Maker par excellence. He was overwhelmingly voted for in the Local Government Elections in Lagos State and elected the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo-Bayeku Local Council Development Area. Known for his articulated outspokenness, he was also elected as the Public Relations Officer of Conference 57 (Chairmen of LGA/LCDA in Lagos State).

He enjoys playing table tennis and spends his leisure time with his family and friends. Olusesan is a worthy and enviable ambassador of Igbogbo Town; he is happily married with children.
